Finnforest announced on 2 May 2001 a NOK 2.2 billion takeover bid (EUR 272 million), worth 11.25 Norwegian crowns per share, for Moelven Industrier ASA, a Norwegian forestry company. Finnforest stated that the takeover will create the market leader in wood based building systems, and Europe`s second biggest producer of sawn timber, plywood and gluelam, which is used in large wooden roof beams, with net sales of about EUR 2 billion.
Pöyry Capital acted as Financial Advisor to a selling shareholder.
